Fire breaks out at 8th floor Geylang condo unit

A fire broke out at an eighth-floor condominium unit in Geylang on Dec. 1.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted at about 4pm to the incident at 3 Lorong 42 Geylang, which is the address of Aston Mansions.

The fire involved the contents of a living room, SCDF added.

SCDF extinguished the fire with a water jet.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Photos submitted by a Mothership reader showed that the glass windows of the affected apartment were broken and covered in soot.

Flames could be seen through the broken window.

Crowds were gathered outside the private property compound, while two fire engines and a police car were at the scene.

SCDF personnel were also seen in the condominium premises.
