Sin Chew Daily reported that the shooting occurred at around 8am on Dec. 10.

One of the men was allegedly shot in the abdomen, while the other suffered a hand injury.

The Seremban district police chief confirmed the incident and said the two men were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

However, one of the men succumbed to his injuries.

The 43-year-old was in critical condition when he was admitted, but passed away due to his injuries in the afternoon of Dec. 10, The Star wrote.

The police chief said the deceased was believed to be a bodyguard/driver to the other victim in the car.

He added that a preliminary investigation revealed that a person on a motorcycle opened fire at the car while it was approaching the Port Dickson toll plaza.

"We believe the motive of the attack was revenge and gang rivalry, although investigations are ongoing," said the chief.

He also shared that the second man was receiving treatment and was in his 40s. He is also a suspect in a slashing incident in April, The Star reported.
