Chinese national, 40, allegedly breaks into houses in Serangoon & Sentosa, police recovers wig, cap, & valuables
He will be charged in court on Dec. 10.
The police arrested a 40-year-old male Chinese national on Dec. 8, 2025, for his suspected involvement in three housebreaking-related cases within 24 hours.
A police news release stated that police recovered pieces of jewellery, cash amounts of more than S$1,000, four EZ-Link cards, a cap, and a wig.
Residential units
This comes after the police were alerted between Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 to three housebreaking-related cases at residential units along Chuan Drive, Li Hwan Close and in the vicinity of Sentosa Island.
Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division arrested the man after establishing his identity through extensive ground enquiries and CCTV and police camera footage.
According to preliminary investigations, the man had allegedly broken into the residential units and stolen jewellery items while the home occupants were away.
Penalties
Following his arrest, the man will be charged in court on Dec. 10 with housebreaking to commit an offence punishable by imprisonment under Section 451 of the Penal Code 1871.
If convicted, he is liable to a fine and may be sentenced to jail for a term which may extend to 10 years.
