Simonboy has apparently sent a lawyer's letter to fellow Singaporean content creator Xiaxue after she went on Instagram questioning his intentions behind his new social initiative, Forever Megan Charity.

Simonboy, also known as Khung Wei Nan, had named the charity in remembrance of his late daughter, Megan Khung.

When announcing his charity on Nov. 6, he described it as a way of transforming his grief about Megan into kindness to positively impact the lives of the children in the orphanage.

However, he has received flak online about the initiative.

Xiaxue was among his critics.

Seeking attention

On Nov. 12, Xiaxue, whose real name is Wendy Cheng, depicted Simonboy as a clout chaser and irresponsible parent on her Instagram stories.

She agreed with a comment on Mothership's post about Khung's charity, which challenged if Khung was a "real hero" who is honest and faithful "without any form of media attention".

Cheng also implied that Khung was grabbing a "random kid" for a photo opportunity in one of the photos he used to share about the charity's first project at an orphanage in Malaysia.

Three kids with three different women

Commenting on Khung's parenting, Cheng pointed out that he had three children with three different wives.

"I think you have enough kids on your hands to go and handle," she added. "You don't need to go bother [to] take care of other people's children first."

In 2024, Khung shared on Instagram that he had finally met Caius, born to his first wife, for the first time after 11 years.

It took him three years to reassure Caius's mother before she gave him permission to meet his son, he wrote.

Cheng, however, highlighted that Khung had "made sure to document [the reunion] on social media and for the news".

Megan, Khung's second child, died at the age of four after she was abused by her mother and her mother's then-boyfriend in 2020, in a case that shocked the nation.

Megan's death was discovered after Khung, who last saw her in February 2017 before his incarceration, made a police report in 2020.

In April 2025, Khung and his current wife welcomed their first child.

Lawyering up

In response to Cheng's remarks, Khung appeared to have sent a lawyer's letter for defamation, false statements, and harassment, with an immediate cease and desist demand.

Cheng shared a screenshot of the letter's header in an Instagram story on Nov. 13.

In response to Mothership's queries, Cheng said she received the letter via email at 1.02am on Thursday, and is currently working on a response with her lawyers.

Mothership has also reached out to Khung, who declined to comment.

He previously told CNA that the money and various necessities he donated to the Malaysia orphanage was not collected from the public, and does not plan to source funds for future projects.

Despite criticisms that he was using Megan's name to gain sympathy or publicity, he was determined to push on with the charity.

"If I’m scared of repercussions and stop doing this, I’m just wasting away the given opportunity to help," he said.
