M'sia boy, 17, goes out to buy food on motorcycle, dies after getting hit & run over by car
The driver fled the scene.
A 17-year-old boy in Malaysia rode his motorcycle to buy food and was headed home when he allegedly got hit by a car.
The incident took place at around 11am on Nov. 13, along Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu expressway in Penang, Malaysia.
Died on the spot
According to China Press, the victim, identified as Jason Li, lived in an apartment near Karpal Singh Drive and had gone out alone on his motorcycle to buy food.
On his way home, he was allegedly hit by a car and thrown onto the road.
The car then reportedly ran over his body before fleeing the scene.
The victim, who had obtained his motorcycle learner’s licence earlier this year, suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot.

Family members inconsolable
China Press reported that family members, who arrived at the scene after being notified, were visibly distraught.
The victim's mother broke down in tears, while his younger brother knelt beside the body.

Investigations ongoing
Police are investigating the case and reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify the driver involved, China Press reported.
The victim’s body was subsequently sent to Penang General Hospital for a post-mortem, accompanied by his mother and younger brother.
