The man who fled on foot from the police after crashing his car in Telok Blangah on Nov. 4 was arrested a day later on Nov. 5 evening after being on the run for almost 36 hours.
Arrested in Kaki Bukit industrial complex
According to Shin Min Daily News, a large police presence was seen at Premier@Kaki Bukit, an eight-storey industrial complex located along Kaki Bukit Avenue 4, on the evening of Nov. 5.
A 30-year-old man who works in the complex shared that he saw the police when he was clocking off work at around 7pm.
"They were very serious and asked us to leave the area quickly," the man said.
Shin Min reported that the wanted man was hiding in a unit on the sixth floor, and several officers were seen standing guard outside it.
At around 10pm, police canine units were seen entering the building, leaving after about 20 minutes.
A police officer with two riot shields was also seen leaving the building afterward.
Later at about 11:17pm, a man, believed to be the fugitive, was brought out of the complex.
More officers holding onto what appeared to be evidence followed suit.
A man, who works on the sixth floor, told Shin Min on Nov. 6 that when he was heading home from work the day before, he encountered a group of plain-clothed officers at the lift lobby.
They queried him on where he worked and if he had any information regarding the suspect.
When he reached the ground floor of the building, he saw more police officers standing by.
The Singapore Police Force confirmed that the police identified the man who fled from the Telok Blangah car crash to be a 34-year-old and arrested him on Nov. 5.
