Man, 34, who crashed & fled car in Telok Blangah to be charged for at least 7 traffic-related offences

On the morning of Nov. 4, police were patrolling Telok Blangah Drive when they came across a car that had mounted a kerb.
Police officers went on to check on the car driver, who suddenly drove off.
While the police gave chase, the car driver had collided with two other cars, a van, and a bus.
After the collision, the driver abandoned his car and fled on foot along Telok Blangah Hill.
Another man injured
A 48-year-old male car driver was injured and conveyed to the hospital as a result of the collision.
An e-vaporiser was also found in the abandoned car, which will be referred to the Health Sciences Authority.
The 34-year-old man's identity was established after extensive ground inquiries and aid of images from CCTV cameras, said the police.
Arrested on Nov. 5
He was arrested on Nov. 5 at an industrial building around Kaki Bukit.
Preliminary investigations showed that the man was disqualified from driving following a prior conviction in 2024 for failing to comply with provisional driving licence conditions.
He will be charged in court on Nov. 7 for at least seven offences under the Road Traffic Act 1961, including dangerous driving, leaving a vehicle in a position likely to cause danger, and failing to report an accident.
Each offence carries varying consequences, including fines of up to S$10,000 and a jail term of up to six years.
