Six adults in Taipei, Taiwan, have been charged on Nov. 10 with torture leading to death, after the killing of a 19-year-old man.

The victim, surnamed Chang, had allegedly tried to date the girlfriend of a gang member.

The gang member, 26-year-old Li, has been indicted along with five others, The Standard reported.

He allegedly orchestrated the torture.

Chang had allegedly privately messaged Li's 17-year-old girlfriend on Instagram, hoping to meet up.

When Li found out, he asked the girl to lie that she was single and lure Chang to a hotel.

The girl arranged to meet Chang in a hotel room where he was ambushed by Li and other gang members.

Armed with baseball bats, machetes and stun guns, Chang was subjected to lengthy torture which included beatings, electrocution, and stabbings.

Chang allegedly had his head slammed against walls, his hair burnt with lighters, and his teeth broken with a hammer.

According to Sin Chew Daily, he was also allegedly forced to dance in his underwear.

Afraid that his cries would attract attention, his assaulters drove Chang to a betel nut store elsewhere, where the torture continued.

Chang eventually died "from complications" and massive blood loss 51 hours later, according to The Standard.

His body was only discovered when police investigated the store as part of a drug case.
