A woman was found dead with her four-year-old daughter in Malaysia following an alleged murder-suicide on Nov. 4.

Kulim police chief reportedly said officers arrived at a house in Taman Perak, Kulim at about midnight to find the 30-year-old's woman hanging from a ceiling fan while her daughter was found dead on a mattress nearby, according to The New Straits Times.

The woman's son, seven, survived but was found with marks on his neck and injuries to his jaw.

Turmoil from relationship dispute

The woman was reportedly distressed by a relationship dispute, leading to her decision to end their lives.

Their bodies were discovered when the son managed to escape and called for help from neighbours.

Police later found two handwritten notes in the living room, containing her apology and expressing her inability to cope with her emotional suffering.

"I apologise to everyone, this is my 'final journey' and I can no longer endure the heartache. (The children) cannot be left with anyone, which was why I felt compelled to take them with me," she wrote.

She also thanked her friends and added that they had nothing to do with her decision.

Identification documents belonging to her and the two children were recovered beside the notes.

A forensic examination found no evidence of forced entry, and the bodies bore no external injuries other than those consistent with strangulation and smothering, NST reported.

The bodies have been sent to the hospital for post-mortem examinations, while the boy is being treated at Kulim Hospital.
