2 men, aged 38 & 39, attack couple with baton at Lor 24 Geylang, arrested within 4 hours

The police have arrested two men, aged 38 and 39, for their suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon with common intention.
On Nov. 11, at about 6:50pm, the police received calls for assistance along Lorong 24 Geylang.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the two men and a couple, who were all known to each other, purportedly got into a dispute and the men allegedly assaulted the couple with a baton.
The couple sustained injuries and were conveyed to the hospital.
The identities of the men were established and they were arrested within four hours.
The men will be charged in court on Nov. 13 with the offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon with common intention.
The offence carries a jail term of up to seven years, a fine, caning, or a combination of such punishments.
The police said they have zero tolerance for such brazen acts of violence and blatant disregard the law.
The police added: "We will spare no effort to apprehend such offenders and will deal with them sternly in accordance with the law."
