Concrete pillar in M'sia home collapses on girl, 2, crushing her to death
The case has been classified as a sudden death.
A two-year-old toddler in Seremban, Malaysia, died after a concrete pillar from her house's gate collapsed on top of her.
The incident occurred at around 7:15pm on Oct. 3, Bernama reported, citing Malaysia police.
It was reported that the victim, who was two years and nine months old, was playing with her sister when the unstable concrete gate pillar suddenly fell.
Despite being rushed to the hospital by her mother, the girl succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 9:14pm.
Cause of death was a head injury
Bernama reported that in a statement on Oct. 4, the police said postmortem results revealed that the cause of death was a "head injury due to impact from a heavy object", and added that no other injuries were detected.
According to The Star, the case has been classified as a sudden death.
The public is advised to ensure that all structures built on their properties are installed safely to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
