Chinese man shot at by robber in Brazil, later finds bullet lodged in laptop
He didn't realise the robbers had fired at him at first.
A Chinese man on a business trip in Brazil found out his Apple laptop was good for more than just work after it shielded him from a bullet following a gunpoint robbery.
The incident reportedly took place on Oct. 1 at a gas station in São Paulo, Brazil.
Mugged at gunpoint
On Xiaohongshu, the man said he was waiting at a gas station in São Paulo for his ride to the airport.
The man, who used the alias Zhang (transliteration), was in the city for an event which ended on Oct. 1, Sohu wrote.
At the time, he had his luggage and a backpack with him.
Out of the blue, a masked man jumped out from a vehicle and attempted to rob him of his valuables.
"My backpack had important documents as well as my laptop, so I turned around and fled," the man wrote on Xiaohongshu.
He ran about 30 to 40 metres away before looking back, only to find out that the robbers had made off with his luggage, he told Sohu.
Following the robbery, a gas station attendant phoned the police, who later told Liu that it was unlikely that his luggage would be recovered.
Accepting the outcome, Zhang headed to the airport to catch his flight home.

Discovered lodged bullet during airport checks
It was only during security checks at the airport that Liu found out a bullet was lodged in his laptop.
It dawned on him that the robbers had fired at him and that his laptop had saved him from bodily harm.
He estimated that the losses amounted to around S$1,800 to S$3,600, 8world wrote.
Zhang told Sohu that his local friends had reminded him to be careful when going about the city and not to carry too many valuable items with them.
