15 students from Raffles Girls' Primary School (RGPS) were reported to have developed symptoms of gastroenteritis on Oct. 1.

A joint statement from the Singapore Food Agency, Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA), and RGPS shared that none of the students were hospitalised, and all 15 students returned to school on Oct. 2.

As a precautionary measure, RGPS has immediately suspended the sale of the potentially implicated canteen good item.

According to The Straits Times, the affected students had allegedly consumed noodles.

Investigations ongoing

The RGPS staff will closely monitor the well-being of the affected students.

They also conducted checks with all students in the school immediately and observed that the rest of the cohort remains well.

The CDA and SFA are investigating cases of gastroenteritis, and the school is supporting them in their investigations.

The school also communicated with all parents of the cohort to inform them of the situation.

"Food safety is a joint responsibility. While SFA puts in place and enforces the regulatory measures, food operators must play their part by adhering to good food safety practices.

SFA will not hesitate to take enforcement action against errant food operators."
