Sims Ave East van, bicycle & 2 motorcycles chain collision: Motorcyclist, 53 & cyclist, 52, taken to hospital
A man was seen lying on the ground near a van and motorcycle.
A van, two motorcycles and a bicycle were involved in a chain collision along Sims Avenue East towards New Upper Changi Road on Oct. 12 evening.
According to Shin Min Daily News, the accident occurred at around 7:40pm and two people were taken to the hospital.
In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that it conveyed two people to Changi General Hospital after they were alerted to the incident at 7:45pm.
Another individual was assessed for minor injuries but declined to be sent to the hospital.
The accident
According to video footage received by Shin Min, a van was stationary in the middle of the road, with a motorcycle in front of it on its side to the left.
A man was also seen lying on the ground nearby as medical personnel attended to him.
A 46-year-old woman, who worked at a nearby convenience store, told Shin Min that she heard a loud crash and initially thought it was a truck unloading goods.
She later learned from a customer that an accident had occurred.
Another witness, a 24-year-old bakery worker, recounted hearing a loud bang before rushing outside.
"I saw someone lying on the ground, and many people went forward to help," she said, adding that medical personnel arrived at about 8pm to assist the injured.
Police confirmed that a 53-year-old male motorcyclist and a 52-year-old female cyclist were taken conscious to the hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.
