5 persons, aged 15-37, fined on the spot for vaping after ops in Yishun & Punggol, 1 suspected Kpod seized for testing
An individual under 21 years was caught for smoking.
The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has intensified enforcement efforts against all e-vaporiser-related offences leading to a series of fines issued on the spot.
Following public feedback received from reporting platforms, HSA said on Oct. 13 that it identified vaping hotspots and conducted enforcement operations in these areas.
From Oct. 8 to 10, 2025, HSA and the National Environment Agency (NEA) carried out joint enforcement operations at these areas, including Khatib, Yishun and Punggol.
A total of five individuals, aged 15 to 37 years, were caught and fined on the spot.
A total of six e-vaporisers and related components were seized, including one e-vaporiser suspected to contain etomidate.
The seized pod has been sent for testing.
In separate enforcement actions, an individual under 21 years was caught for smoking.

Background
According to HSA on Sep. 27, a total of 65 suspected etomidate abusers were caught during Sep. 1 to 21, after enhanced penalties for vaping offences came into force on Sep. 1.
Laboratory testing confirmed that 44 had e-vaporisers that contained etomidate, while 12 did not contain etomidate.
The test results of the e-vaporisers for the remaining nine persons were pending.
A total of 39 abusers of etomidate e-vaporisers (Kpods) caught have since started or are expected to start their rehabilitation at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) or Social Service Agencies (SSAs).
In total, 656 persons were caught for e-vaporiser related offences.
