Thundery showers to continue in 1st half of Sep. 2025, above average rainfall expected

Singapore may continue to experience thundery showers and gusty winds in the pre-dawn and morning on several days across most of the island due to Sumatra squalls, the Meteorological Service Singapore said on Sep. 1.
Parts of the country may experience moderate to heavy rain on some late mornings and afternoons.
The total rainfall for the first fortnight of September 2025 is forecast to be above average over most parts of the island.
The daily maximum temperatures are likely to range between 32°C to 34°C on most days.
Rainy second half of August
The island saw localised short-duration thundery showers over parts of the island on several days.
Sumatra squalls brought rain, thunder and wind over Singapore in the wee hours on a few days.
Half of Singapore recorded above-average rainfall.
Of note was the downpour on Aug. 24, where 104.2mm of rain fell over Ulu Pandan, the highest recorded in the second half of the month.
The daily maximum temperature was between 32°C to 34°C on most days.
Ang Mo Kio recorded the highest daily maximum temperature of 34.7°C on Aug. 22.
Clementi registered rainfall of 128 per cent above average, while Changi registered rainfall of 40 per cent below average.
