Jeanette Aw reveals sexual harassment decades ago, says foreigner pulled her over to watch porn video
Her 'Holland V' co-star Cynthia Koh stood up for her.
Singaporean actress Jeanette Aw disclosed that she was sexually harassed by a foreigner many years ago, and the man was arrested by the police.
Aw shared this during a baking challenge uploaded to her YouTube channel, "JA Unscripted".
She was alongside Cynthia Koh, her former co-star in the local television series "Holland V".
The show, which aired in 2003, revolved around the Mo family operating a nasi lemak restaurant in Holland Village, in which Aw and Koh played twin sisters.
While reminiscing on their experience filming the show, Aw said the incident which left her with her deepest impression of Koh was when she scolded a man who allegedly sexually harassed Aw.
'I have a very protective sister': Aw
During the video, Aw addressed Koh as "Third Sister", a term of endearment she had used since the show.
Regarding the incident, Aw said that over 20 years ago, they had gone out for a meal with "Second Sister" Patricia Mok, and then headed somewhere else for a drink.
While walking behind Mok and Koh, Aw said a foreign man allegedly grabbed her hand and pulled her over.
"He was watching a porn video. Then he pulled me over to watch," Aw said in a mix of English and Mandarin.
Aw said she immediately told Mok and Koh.
"Then Third Sister (Koh) stood up and walked over to the foreigner and said, 'I tell you, you don't ever do this thing to my sister again' ", recalled Aw.
Aw added that this made her feel like she had a " very protective sister".
She also recalled that the police later came because the man allegedly "did the same to one of the guests".
A voice off-camera could be heard reminding Koh that when the man was taken away by police, Koh remarked, "orbi good" (Singlish for "serves you right").
Which made both Koh and Aw laugh.
"I'm like this," said Koh, describing her personality.
She said that she responded similarly when someone allegedly groped her buttocks in the Zouk nightclub.
Koh said she grabbed the man's hand and demanded an apology, threatening that she would call security.
The man apologised profusely.
