Japanese woman, 86, allegedly fatally strangles husband, 91, & tries to take own life, says she was tired of caring for him
She was arrested on suspicion of murder.
An 86-year-old woman in Kanagawa, Japan, was arrested for suspicion of killing her husband and then attempting suicide.
Yoko Yoshihara admitted to strangling her 91-year-old bedridden partner with his necktie at home on Sep. 25.
She had apparently done so as she was tired of caring for him, reported Japan Today.
The killing occurred between 9:30am and 11:30am that day.
When the couple's daughter returned home at around 11:40am, she found her father on the floor, not breathing.
Meanwhile, her mother was bleeding from a stab wound on her neck and had cuts to her wrists as well.
The elderly pair were taken to the hospital, but Yoshihara's husband was declared dead on arrival.
Yoshihara's wounds, on the other hand, were "not life-threatening", according to Japan Today.
She then admitted to killing her husband.
Police are investigating the incident.
