Early morning 4.7-magnitude earthquake detected in Vietnam
Less than 200km from Da Nang, Vietnam.
A 4.7‑magnitude earthquake on Sep. 11 at 2:36am (Singapore time) in Vietnam was detected by the Earthquake Observation Division of the Thai Meteorological Department, The Nation reported.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 2km, with its epicentre traced to Vietnam at coordinates 14.999°N, 108.073°E.
It occurred 14km from Quảng Nam, Vietnam, at a location that is less than 200km from Da Nang, Vietnam.
The epicentre lies approximately 346km east of Thailand's Mueang District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, The Nation reported.
The earthquake did not directly affect Thailand, The Nation added.
But the public was advised to treat the earthquake occurrence as a warning to remain vigilant and monitor the situation closely.
