The body of the woman was discovered by members of the public on Sep. 1, at around 7:50pm, KLIA district police chief Azman Shari'at told Malaysia media on Sep. 10.
"The body was already in a decomposed state, with only the skull remaining. Based on its condition, the victim is believed to have been dead for about a week," said Azman, as quoted by Bernama.
Azman said the victim was clothed in a white "Drum" branded t-shirt with the words "Fear Less", and cream cargo shorts, but no identification documents were found.
The body was later sent to Serdang Hospital in Selangor for a post-mortem, during which pathologists found "four suspicious injuries".
Azman said police have classified the case as murder, and the motive is being investigated.
He urged anyone with missing family members matching the description or with information on the case to come forward.
