Dead body found in Taiwan water tank, about 50 residents allegedly drank tainted water over 3 days

A decomposing body was found in a water tank at a residential block in Taiwan.

According to Taiwan media, the body had allegedly been there for around three days.

The deceased was not a resident of any unit.

Initial investigations suggested that a man had been climbing the ladder inside the water tank when he fell in.

Due to the lengthy period of time the body was submerged in water, identification has proven a challenge for authorities.

The police are interviewing residents and reviewing CCTV footage from the residential units.

The residential building is home to about 40 to 50 people.

The body was first discovered when one of the residents noticed a foul odour in the drinking water and alerted the relevant authorities.
