Toa Payoh coffee shop fight: 11 men, aged 21-34, to be charged for rioting with deadly weapon

Another man, 30, and a woman, 22, will be assisting in further investigations.

The police have arrested 12 men and one woman, aged between 21 and 34, for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting armed with deadly weapon.

On Aug. 24, 2025 at about 9:50am, the police were alerted to a fight at Block 10B Lorong 7 Toa Payoh.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the fight took place at a coffee shop located nearby, where a group of 13 subjects had purportedly attacked two victims following a dispute and some allegedly used weapons.

The two victims, aged 21 and 30, sustained stab wounds to their arm and back respectively, and sought outpatient treatment at a hospital.

The identities of the persons involved were established and they were arrested.

A cleaver, believed to be a weapon used in the fight, was also seized.

Four men, aged between 21 and 33, will be charged in court on Aug. 26, while seven men, aged between 23 and 34 will be charged in court on Aug. 27 with the offence of rioting armed with deadly weapon.

The remaining 30-year-old man and 22-year-old woman will be assisting the police for further investigation.

The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and caning.
