Zelensky thanks President Tharman & S'pore on independence day for solidarity with Ukraine

On behalf of the people of Singapore, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam congratulated Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky on Ukraine's Independence Day on Aug. 24.

The well-wishes were conveyed via a note from Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to the Embassy of Ukraine, which was shared by Zelensky on X on Aug. 25.

Ukraine's Independence Day was on Aug. 24.

Peace, prosperity and progress

In the message, President Tharman congratulated Zelensky and Ukrainians on its Independence Day and wished for peace, progress and prosperity.

Along with President Tharman's message, MFA also took the opportunity to renew to the Embassy of Ukraine the "assurances of its highest consideration".

Zelensky thanked Tharman

Responding to the congratulatory message on X, Zelensky thanked President Tharman for the well wishes on Ukraine's Independence Day and for the solidarity of Singapore with Ukrainians.

"Ukraine values this friendship and looks forward to further deepening our bilateral relations," Zelensky added.
