An 18-year-old teenager was arrested after he allegedly harassed a resident at Haig Road.

He is believed to be involved in two other cases of loanshark harassment as well, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said in an Aug. 12 statement.

The police were alerted to the case of alleged loanshark harassment on Aug. 11.

The teen had allegedly placed a debtor's note, written on foolscap paper, on the gate.

He was subsequently tracked down and arrested within two hours.

A mobile phone, three bicycle locks, and two debtor's notes were seized.

The teen will be charged in court on Aug. 13 under the Moneylenders Act.

For loanshark harassment, he could be fined between S$5,000 and S$50,000, jailed up to five years, and receive up to six strokes of the cane.
