WhatsappA Land Transport Authority (LTA) engineer, who was filmed scolding two contractors at a worksite, has been counselled.

According to a statement from LTA, they are aware of the incident involving their engineer and contract staff.

In a video uploaded to Facebook, an LTA engineer was seen shouting at two workers.

The engineer was heard asking the two staff why they did not wear their seatbelts.

"First day ah? Where's your driving licence?" The engineer shouted.

He then asked the staff about his driver's licence and what he learned from the driving school.

He proceeded to scold the two staff and, at one point, smacked one of the contractors on the helmet using a driver's licence.

He then threw the license on the floor and continued shouting at them.

Counselling

In their statement on Facebook, LTA explained that the engineer was addressing safety lapses at the worksite.

However, they acknowledged that the manner in which the engineer did so was inappropriate.

"We do not condone such behaviour," LTA added.

"The engineer has also been counselled and reminded of the standards of conduct expected for all staff. He has expressed regret for his actions and has apologised to the staff involved."

LTA shared that they will continue to "reinforce the need for respectful and professional behaviour when upholding safety standards."
