Defence minister Chan Chun Sing to make introductory visit to M'sia
He will be visiting from Aug. 25 to 26.

Chan Chun Sing will be visiting Malaysia from Aug. 25 to 26 to make his introductory visit as Singapore’s defence minister.
Counterparts
Chan will meet his Malaysian counterpart, Mohamed Khaled Nordin, as well as other members of Malaysia’s leadership.
Chan had previously met Mohamed before, such as when the Malaysian defence minister was in Singapore to attend the Shangri-La Dialogue in June 2025.
While in Malaysia, Chan will witness the signing of the Arrangement for Mutual Submarine Rescue Support and Cooperation between the Republic of Singapore Navy and the Royal Malaysian Navy.
He will also deliver a keynote address at the PUSPAHANAS, a centre for defence studies under Malaysia’s Ministry of Defence.
According to a press release by Singapore’s Ministry of Defence, Chan’s visit “underscores the warm and longstanding bilateral defence relationship between Singapore and Malaysia”.
Chan will be accompanied by Singapore’s Chief of Navy Sean Wat, as well as other MINDEF officials.
Introductory visit
The visit comes on the heels of Chan's introductory visit to Brunei, where he met with the Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, as well as Singapore Armed Forces troops who were training in Temburong.
