Shape-shifting technology is still not available in Singapore as a Mercedes was recently seen not transforming into human form before proceeding onto a pedestrian walkway.

Footage of the incident on Aug. 19 at 3:45pm was captured on a dashboard camera.

The video showed the Mercedes travelling along Chulia Street before turning left into Philip Street — only to stop.

After a few seconds, the car's driver decided to turn right — onto the pedestrian walkway outside the OCBC building that runs parallel to Chulia Street.

Pedestrians using walkway

There were at least six pedestrians utilising the walkway at the time.

A man in white appeared befuddled by the Mercedes' usage of the pedestrian walkway.

He looked back at the vehicle apparently to see where it was going.

A man in blue walking behind the Mercedes apparently did a double take and checked his blind spot on the right perhaps to ensure that there were no other vehicles turning into the walkway.

The Mercedes would have been able to exit the walkway as the path was sloped and proceeded into the drop-off point in front of the OCBC building.

Could have wanted to go to drop-off point

A plausible-sounding reason as to why the Mercedes entered the walkway was because it had turned left too soon.

The driver could have wanted to go to the drop-off point, which was about 100m ahead, but had turned left too soon to enter Philip Street and could not reverse out as there was a vehicle behind.
