Cocobella Coconut Yoghurt products recalled in S'pore for undeclared milk allergen

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has recalled various coconut yoghurt products from the popular Australian brand Cocobella, citing the presence of an undeclared milk allergen.

The products include the 150g and 500g variations of the Cocobella Coconut Yoghurt, with their expiration dates ranging from Aug. 22 to Oct. 5, 2025.

In a press release on Aug. 23, SFA noted that Food Standards Australia New Zealand has issued a notification regarding the recall of various products.

As the products were imported to Singapore, SFA has directed the importer, Made Brands Pte Ltd, to recall the implicated products.

The recall is ongoing.

The agency noted that "milk does not pose a food safety issue to consumers at large, except to those that are intolerant of or allergic to milk".

As allergens in food may result in allergic reactions in individuals who are sensitive to them, food products containing ingredients that are known to cause hypersensitivity must be declared on food packaging labels to protect consumers with food allergies.

"Consumers who have purchased the affected product, and who are intolerant of or allergic to milk, should not consume them," said SFA.

Those who are lactose intolerant or allergic to milk and have consumed the implicated product should seek medical advice if they have concerns about their health.

"Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiries," SFA remarked.

Cocobella has since apologised for the health impacts, concern, and inconvenience this has caused their customers.

"Rest assured, we take this very seriously and are working hard to investigate to understand how this issue occurred so we can ensure it cannot happen again," the brand said.
