Man, 38, arrested & charged for allegedly stealing 2 handphones & wallet from hotel rooms at Tanglin Road

He was arrested on the same day he stole from his second victim.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in two cases of housebreaking and theft.

Handphones and wallet taken from hotel rooms

On Aug. 19, 2025, a victim reported that his handphone was missing from his hotel room, according to a press release by the Singapore Police Force (SPF).

Two days later, on Aug. 21,  another victim reported that his handphone and a wallet were missing from his hotel room.

The hotel was located along Tanglin Road.

Through ground enquiries and with the help of CCTV images, police officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him later on the same day.

The police also recovered the handphone and wallet of the second victim from the man.

He was scheduled to be charged in court on Aug. 23 for the offence of housebreaking and theft.

The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.
