SG Youth Forum on Sep. 6 to feature live budget voting, activities on social wellness, focus group discussions & more
Also a good time to meet like-minded youths.
The National Youth Council Singapore (NYC) will be holding its inaugural SG Youth Forum at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre on Sep. 6, from 11am to 4pm.
The SG Youth Forum is a signature event of the SG Youth Plan, as part of a year-long series of engagements hosted by NYC, the Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth (MCCY) and their partners.
These engagements are designed to encourage the discussion of key issues that matter most to youths, such as alternative pathways beyond grades, navigating adulthood and creating strong family bonds. Youth’s aspirations and ideas from these engagements will inform the formulation of the SG Youth Plan.
Various activities
On top of that, there will also be hands-on activities for youths from 15 to 35 years old.
You can try your hand at charm cycling, where you can create bag charms using upcycled textiles, or take part in colour analysis workshops led by image consultants.

A panel session will be held with local influencers Charlene Chew (@charlenechew), a mental health advocate, and…
local personality Zhin Sadali (@zhinsadali), who just recently hosted the National Day’s Concert – a milestone in his media career.
They will discuss how youths can better navigate their emotions, build confidence and set intentional goals through methods such as video journaling.
There will also be a live panel hosted by popular podcast channel The Hop Pod, which is known for its conversations on life’s transitions.
Offline Singapore’s founders Jarell Low and Wei Yue Dong will share practical ways to go beyond small talk and create deeper connections at this panel too.
Participants will also have the opportunity to build connections with various stakeholders at the SG Youth Forum, including government agencies, corporations and youth-led initiatives.
In addition, they can take part in focus group discussions around topics of career and youth voice, where they can understand other youths’ perspectives and share their concerns and aspirations.
Young people will get to hear from Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) David Neo at this event as well.
More than 1,000 participants between the ages of 15 and 35 are expected to attend the event.
Members of the public can allocate additional budget for youth-led initiatives after hearing their pitch
This year’s forum will also include a marketplace segment featuring a project pitch zone, where selected youth project teams from the YoungChangeMakers (YCM) x SG Youth Forum grant will pitch to the public their ideas to drive change in the community.
In order for the project idea to be considered, it must benefit the local community, only commence from Oct. 1, 2025 onwards and be completed within six months.
Up to 20 projects will be featured, with members of the public having a say in allocating an additional funding of S$2,000 for projects that resonate with them through a participatory budgeting exercise. The projects stand to earn up to S$10,000 in grants.
Apart from the on-site pitch on Sep. 6, the online participatory budgeting exercise will be opened to all youths from Sep. 6 to 15 to decide how much additional budget the youth project teams will get to implement their ideas.
The grant is a collaboration between government agencies, corporations with social responsibility programmes and youth-led initiatives, designed to support young people in their aspirations to create positive change.
If you are interested in finding out what is in store for your future as a young person, why not head down on Sep. 6 for the SG Youth Forum? You can register for the event here.
