This Shark bladeless fan went viral overseas, but what’s the hype? We find out.

It blew us away.

When my colleague told me that Shark would be letting us try the TurboBlade Bladeless Fan, I immediately volunteered to try it.

I mean, it’s America’s most powerful bladeless fan* after all.

Also, I have been living without a fan in my room ever since the neck of my previous fan broke.

Putting my fan’s unfortunate story aside, I decided it was best to put the TurboBlade to the test…

Powering through a work-from-home day

The design? Sleek.

The fan? Cool.

The Shark TurboBlade kept the room cool enough for me and my colleagues to survive a humid afternoon of working from home. It was also silent and non-disruptive to our online meetings.

With 10 fan speeds and specialty modes like Sleep, Breeze Boost, and Natural Breeze, you can customise to your comfort.

No need for noise cancellation when you’ve got a Shark TurboBlade at home.

The lowest speed has a sound level as low as 40dBA, which is essentially just a low hum.

So quiet and cooling, one of us couldn’t help but sneak in a nap. Photo by Mothership.

If you are wondering how the wind could reach both of us in that frame above, allow me to let you in on a pro-tip.

One of the Shark TurboBlade’s biggest flexes is its limitless customisation.

One way you can customise is to twist the vents in opposite directions to cool two areas at once.

Plus, when you twist both nozzles 90° outwards and pair that with 180° oscillation, you can get a full 360° cooling coverage.

Both of us got the same consistent and uninterrupted cooling even when we weren’t sitting anywhere near each other.

No more tossing or turning

Truth is, the Shark TurboBlade makes taking a nap even more enjoyable with its unique Air Blanket mode.

Ever woke up feeling unnerved cause you’ve been tossing and turning just to find a cool part of your bed to lie in?

Or can’t seem to be satisfied with either the fixed mode or oscillating mode of a fan?

You snooze, you lose? I’ll admit I’m a loser. Photo by Mothership.

Not anymore now. The Air Blanket mode lets you enjoy consistent, soothing airflow with ultra-widespread coverage.

Best of both worlds

Even when the Shark TurboBlade is in its horizontal mode, I can have tiered coverage thanks to its angled vents.

“It’s not just you hoomans who need the fan to beat the heat!” said Katsu, the cutie furboy. Photo by Mothership.

Whether you prefer to snuggle on the sofa or lounge on the floor like Katsu, the direct airflow to both levels so you and your furkids stay cool together.

I’m no parent, but I can imagine the Shark TurboBlade being a lifesaver for families with a playpen.

Plus, it’s a bladeless fan, making it safer to have for families with young children and furkids.

Bonus points

While I’m geeking out about the functions, you should know that the remote control can be placed above the fan without falling off because it is magnetic.

Just look at how it snaps into place. GIF by Mothership.

Gone are the days when you can’t find your fan remote control!

Functionality aside, it’s pretty clear that the Shark TurboBlade is a good-looking showpiece to have at home.

The minimalistic design makes it compatible with any home interior.
