3.4-magnitude quake jolts Johor at 4:24am, 5th incident in 6 days
Other earlier quakes reported were all below 5.0-magnitude.
Johor, Malaysia has been rattled by yet another weak earthquake.
The 3.4-magnitude earthquake was the fifth one in six days.
The state has been hit with a series of weak quakes in the past week.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) posted on Facebook on Aug. 29 that a weak earthquake occurred at 4:24am.
The Facebook post added that the quake was 22km northeast from Segamat, Johor.
It had a depth of 10km.
Vibrations
Vibrations were reportedly felt in Johor.
MetMalaysia said it will continue to monitor the situation and asked those who felt the tremors due to the earthquake to fill up an online form with key information, such as their address, contact details, as well as the time and duration of the tremor, if they felt the quake.
Earlier quakes
This earthquake was the fifth one on the heels of a series of earthquakes below 5.0-magnitude that occurred since Aug. 24.
A 4.1-magnitude earthquake on Sunday, Aug. 24 occurred 5km west of Segamat.
Tremors were felt in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and southern Pahang.
A second 2.8-magnitude quake struck several hours later.
The epicentre was 28km northwest of the Johor town of Kluang.
A third 3.2-magnitude earthquake hit Johor on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
It struck 18km south of Segamat, at a depth of 10km, with tremors felt across the state and in the south of Pahang.
A fourth 2.5-magnitude earthquake hit Johor at on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 7:56pm.
It occurred 13km north of the town of Segamat and at a depth of 10km.
