'Another unexpected challenge': Jet Li undergoes surgery to remove benign tumour

Martial arts actor Jet Li shared photos and videos of himself in the hospital, sparking concerns from fans online.

Taking to Chinese social media Douyin on Aug. 17, the 62-year-old shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed.

The caption read: "I've recently faced another unexpected challenge."

No other context was provided.

In a subsequent video, Li uploaded a video of himself being wheeled towards an operating room.

In the caption of his video, Li said that his "hardware broke down" a few days ago, so he "sent it back to the manufacturer for repair."

In another video posted on Aug. 18, Li joked that the operating theatre looked like a movie set.

He shared photos of himself post-surgery using his phone and tablet, as well as being attended to by the hospital staff.

He also included a picture of himself standing up and said that he was feeling more "energised".

He also shared a picture where he's eating knife-cut noodles, with the video saying he has "left the factory".

Li ended the video wishing everyone good health and happiness.

Li had apparently undergone surgery to remove a benign tumour.
