Slay.
Singapore national swimmer Gan Ching Hwee broke not just one, but two national records that she previously held at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore 2025.
On Jul. 28, Gan swam in the women's 1,500m freestyle event and set a new national record with a time of 16:01.29.
Her 800m split time was 8:29.93, smashing the previous 800m freestyle record of 8:32.37.

This comes just two days later, after Gan broke a near 16-year-old national record in the women's 400m freestyle event.
She clocked a time of 4:09.81, placing 13th overall.
Previously, during the 2024 Paris Olympics, Gan set the national record for the women's 1,500m freestyle event with a time of 16:10.13.
