Sambar deer hit by car along Mandai Road euthanised due to severe injuries
Both the driver and passenger in the vehicle were unharmed.
A sambar deer was euthanised on welfare grounds following a road accident involving a car along Mandai Road.
In response to queries from Mothership, How Choon Beng, group director of wildlife management at the National Parks Board (NParks), said they were alerted about the accident at around 5:15pm on Jul. 24, 2025.
They immediately contacted Mandai Wildlife Group for veterinary assistance due to their proximity to the scene, he said.
According to NParks, both the driver and passenger in the vehicle were unharmed.
As the deer’s injuries were found to be severe, NParks and Mandai Wildlife Group jointly decided to humanely euthanise the animal on site on welfare grounds, How added.
