'Beware Hep A virus in raw or uncooked cockles': Ho Ching seems to take swipe at Jamus Lim in FB post
She didn't name the person but "he" attended SM Lee's speech at the Economic Society of Singapore's dinner.
Jamus Lim and Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong recently had a polite debate on COE on a Facebook post recently.
Following Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong's dialogue at a dinner held by the Economic Society of Singapore, Workers' Party Member of Parliament Jamus Lim shared his thoughts in a Facebook post.
While Lim praised SM Lee's speech as a "masterclass in the economist's way of thinking, and a certain economic approach toward public policymaking", Lim raised his issue with SM Lee's "implicit assumptions about the role of prices, and by extension, fairness in who gets what."
"This mindset then manifests itself in his beliefs about market efficiency, and his degree of willingness to rely on market forces to resolve distributional conflict," Lim added.
Three hours after Lim posted on Facebook on Jul. 16, SM Lee responded in the comment section, addressing Lim's remarks.
Which prompted this response.
Ho Ching warns of uncooked cockles
The next day Ho Ching put up a Facebook post purportedly referring to the Facebook post by Lim on SM Lee's dialogue.
Here it is.
In her post, Ho found it "most interesting" that in a room full of "economists, practitioners, investors and academic leaders, as well as younger professionals and academicians, someone with ideas didn’t stand up to propound his proposal?"
She posited it might be because "he" was afraid to "lose his credibility among thinking people". She then cited some examples of "thinking people" such as "academicians who test their ideas with knowledgeable peers through publications, investors and businsess leaders who live with the consequences of their decisions, political leaders who have to balance the diverse needs of a population against the constraints of resources whether land or money".
Ho ended off with this warning:
"Beware Hep A virus in raw or uncooked cockles!"
