S'pore actor Chen Xi, son of Edmund Chen & Xiang Yun, marries Japanese girlfriend

Local actor Chen Xi announced on his Instagram on Jul. 14 that he has tied the knot with Mimi.
Small and heartwarming celebration
In his post, Chen Xi revealed that rather than having a full-blown wedding ceremony, the couple decided to hold "a small and heartfelt solemnisation with [their] closest family".
The solemnisation was held at Peranakan private dining restaurant Little Social.
Present at the solemnisation were Chen Xi's parents, Edmund Chen and Xiang Yun, as well as his younger sister, Yi Xin.
Expressed his gratitude to his family
In his post, Chen Xi also thanked his parents and sister, as well as his relatives for their love and support.
“To my parents, thank you for being my anchor, for your quiet sacrifices, and for showing me what love and family truly look like.”
“To my sister, thank you for stepping up without hesitation, and being the real MVP behind the scenes.”
“To my aunties, uncles, and my brothers and sisters, thank you for being the roots and rhythm of this day, and for surrounding us with so much love.”
Chen Xi also thanked Mimi's family "for making the long journey" to Singapore, saying that their presence "truly means the world" to him and Mimi.

Mimi wrote in her own Instagram post that she is "blessed to be part of the family".
Xiang Yun commented on her post in Japanese, which translates to: 'My new daughter, I am so happy to welcome you into our family'.

Several artistes also took to the comments section of Chen Xi's post to congratulate the happy couple.

Proposed back in 2024
Chen Xi had previously revealed on Instagram on May 5 2024 that he had proposed to Mimi after four years of dating.
"From the Land of The Rising Sun, across the seas, and all the way to England — thank you for being my anchor, my compass, and my home from home."
They had reportedly met through a language-exchange app.
