Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced an extra public holiday will be granted to all Malaysians on Sep. 15, 2025.
This is in conjunction with the 2025 Malaysia Day celebration, the New Straits Times reported.
Making the announcement on Jul. 23, Anwar said it is meant to recognise Malaysia's spirit of unity and formation as a nation.
Anwar also encouraged Malaysians to make use of the holiday to go on a trip within Malaysia or return to their hometowns to catch up with their families.
