In response to queries from Mothership, the president of SMRT Trains, Lam Sheau Kai, confirmed that the video was filmed on the MRT track between Simei and Tanah Merah stations, where construction works are ongoing for new viaducts connecting to the future East Coast Integrated Depot (ECID).

"We take a serious view of this incident," Lam said, adding that track trespassing poses severe safety risks.

"Such reckless actions not only endanger the individual but can also cause service disruptions, affecting many commuters," he said.

Lam also noted that the application of emergency brakes could pose a risk of injury to commuters onboard the train.

SMRT has reported the incident to the police and is cooperating with their investigation.

The video, which was shared online, including on the Instagram page singapura.legends, was taken in the dark when a train was passing on the track.

The person filming the video then crossed the tracks after the train passed.

It is not stated when the video was taken.

Passengers could be seen on board the train.
