Jetstar Asia announced their impending closure on Jun. 11, 2025.

This has resulted in the end of direct flights to Okinawa from Singapore.

Flights to be restored

However, according to The Straits Times, Changi Airport Group said it will work to restore connectivity to the four destinations served exclusively by Jetstar Asia from Changi.

These destinations include Broome in Australia, Wuxi in China, Labuan Bajo in Indonesia, and Okinawa in Japan.

Increasingly challenged

Jetstar Asia said in a statement on Jun. 11 that the business has been "increasingly challenged" in recent years by rising costs.

This includes escalating supplier costs, airport fees, aviation charges and growing capacity and competition in the region.

The airline's schedule will be progressively reduced before permanently ceasing operations.

Here are the flights from Singapore that it was operating as of Jun. 2, 2025.

Jetstar had announced on Jul. 12, 2023 that they would once again be operating flights from Changi Airport to Okinawa’s Naha airport later in 2023, becoming the only airline offering direct services between Singapore and the Japanese island.

According to Hatsume Nagai, JNTO Singapore Representative Office Executive Director, a survey in 2023 showed that Okinawa was the second-most popular Japanese destination among Singaporeans.
