Plans are afoot to convert a state-owned property at 159 Jalan Loyang Besar in Pasir Ris into a resort-style chalet under Coliwoo.

This was after LHN won a tender for 159 Jalan Loyang Besar to be converted into a resort chalet to be run under its co-living brand.

Coliwoo is Singapore’s largest co-living operator and this property will be the group’s first resort-style chalet.

Over 350 keys

The property, consisting of 20 two-storey buildings, four single-storey structures and vehicle lots, sits on Singapore Land Authority land spanning 380,866 sq ft, close to five football fields in size, and a gross floor area of 106,949 sq ft.

It is near recreational hotspots Downtown East and Wild Wild Wet, and within walking distance to Pasir Ris Beach.

The layout will be reconfigured to accommodate over 350 keys, doubling the current unit count, Coliwoo said.

The chalet is targeted at locals and international visitors seeking flexible co-living options, Coliwoo added, which include families, digital nomads, and corporate groups.

It can also cater to the growing demand for temporary accommodation from professionals involved in the construction of Changi Airport’s upcoming Terminal 5, as well as future demand once the terminal is fully operational, Coliwoo said.

10-month renovation

The property will undergo a 10-month renovation expected to commence soon and the revamped residence is targeted to be operational in the second half of 2026.

The resort chalet will offer communal spaces that encourage social interaction.

Swimming pools, indoor and outdoor sports zones, meditation gardens, social lounges, BBQ pits, multi-purpose halls, event plazas will be located in the chalet resort.

The development, with a black-and-white indoor colour scheme, will integrate solar energy systems and support green mobility with features, such as electric vehicle charging stations and dedicated cycling paths.

Coliwoo will also organise social bonding events for occupants.

This will be Coliwoo’s third-biggest property, after Coliwoo Boon Lay and flagship Coliwoo Orchard.
