Wedding planned a year ago
The couple rejigged their plans a bit to perform their duties as Singaporeans by going to vote separately at different constituencies — while in their wedding best.
According to the bride, Aneetha Dhillon, 27, who voted in Jurong Central SMC, her wedding was planned about a year ago.
Asked how she felt when it was announced that Polling Day was to fall on May 3, she said: "Honestly, it was quite shocking, because we planned this wedding for almost a year. But I think overall, we did quite well in managing everything, all the small hiccups. So, yeah, it still went smoothly."
Wedding costume weighed 12kg
Her wedding gown, which is "Kate Middleton-inspired", weighs 12kg.
She revealed: "I think it's 12kg, yes, and I have to vote here."
Husband at another constituency
She was at her polling station without her husband, who had to head to Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC to cast his vote.

The couple had just finished church service and their lunch reception before going separately to the voting stations.
"Well, I think that's the duty of every Singaporean," Aneetha said.
Photoshoot and dinner reception
After voting, the bride said she and her husband would have to rush to a photoshoot before the dinner reception.
Their day involved moving things around, such as the photoshoot in the morning, due to manpower constraints.
She said: "Very stressful. I mean, as a bride, it's already very stressful to begin with, but yeah, in the end, I think we managed."
She said her stress level was 90 out of 100 in the morning, but it was at 60 when she was at the polling station.
Asked if she would be catching the election night results, Aneetha said: "Unfortunately, I will be at my dinner reception, but I'm pretty sure I'll hear about it very soon after that in my hotel."
