Rain falls over many parts of S'pore as polls open for GE2025, S'pore's 14th GE

The polls have opened for the 2025 General Election, and about 2.6 million people voters are heading to the polls amidst the rain blanketing multiple parts of Singapore.
Polling stations opened at 8am on Saturday after nine days of campaigning.
11 political parties and two independents are contesting in 32 constituencies. The five-member PAP team in Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC was elected unopposed on Nomination Day on April 23.
A PUB advisory issued at 8:12am shared that these locations should be avoided for the next hour due to heavy rain:
- Upp Paya Lebar Service Rd (Lim Teck Boo Rd to Rochdale Rd)
- Jln Lokam (near Upp Paya Lebar Rd)
- Thrift Dr (near Jln Usaha)
The Elections Department (ELD) has advised voters to check the queue status at their respective polling stations before heading down to the polls.

According to ELD, "the polling station queue status will be updated in approximately five-minute intervals during the morning peak polling hours, and then at approximately 10-minute intervals in the less peak period in the afternoon and evening.
The queue status may also be updated whenever there is a substantial change in the queue situation.
