2 lorries involved in serious accident on Braddell Road, 3 taken to hospital
Gas cylinders were seen near the blue lorry.
A serious accident on Braddell Road near Raffles Institution in Bishan caused a long tailback in both directions on May 27 afternoon.
The accident occurred in the direction of Bartley Road before the Bishan Flyover at about 2pm.
Three people were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers freed two people who were trapped in the driver’s seat of the lorries using hydraulic rescue equipment.
The Lornie Viaduct was closed after the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) in the direction of Braddell Road, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said at 2:56pm
Traffic in the opposite direction was also affected, as motorists were warned to avoid the right lane of Braddell Road towards Lornie.
Traffic police managed to open up the lanes and vehicles began moving again at around 3:30pm.

Two damaged lorries were seen on both sides of the road.
One lorry was on its side, with its front damaged.
A blue lorry, with its front also damaged, was seen stuck on the road divider on the other side.
Gas cylinders were seen near the blue lorry.
Vehicles behind the lorries were unable to pass.
Several firefighters were seen hosing down the road surface.
