Body seen floating in S'pore River waters near Great World
A 65-year-old man was pronounced dead at scene by an SCDF paramedic.

A body of a 65-year-old man was retrieved from the waters of the Singapore River near the Great World mall in the Havelock area on May 27.
Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that they received a call for assistance at 1 Kim Seng Promenade at about 11:20am.
A body was seen floating on the waters along Kim Seng Road.
SCDF rescuers subsequently retrieved the body.

The reader said they had just exited Great World, and was about to take the Alexandra Park Connector, when they saw SCDF emergency vehicles and two police cars.
"It wasn’t until I was walking under the Kim Seng Bridge that I saw several people had stopped and were staring at something," said the reader.
The reader said a body could be seen floating face down in the water after coming up to street level.
Body retrieved from waters
Footage of the retrieval operation in the Singapore River was taken by another Mothership reader at around 11:50am.
Rescuers in a boat retrieved the body as police and other SCDF personnel watched on from street level.

Police said that based on preliminary investigations, they do not suspect foul play.
Police investigations are ongoing.
