WP announces final batch of new candidates for GE2025, including ex-US navy security administrator
Last batch of new faces.
On Apr. 20, WP's secretary-general, Pritam Singh, and chairwoman, Sylvia Lim, unveiled the final three new WP candidates for the 2025 General Election.
Here are the three new candidates:
Paris V Parameswari
Paris is a former U.S. navy security administrator.
She worked for 18 years in the U.S. Navy, a posting based in Singapore, and had served in the Singapore navy for six years. She has also volunteered for the Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prison Service, and Institute of Mental Health.
Jackson Au Chee Meng
Au, a communications executive, has been a volunteer since 2022 and served as former WP MP Leon Perera’s legislative assistant before his resignation.
Michael Thng Quan Wei
Thng previously studied masters in public policy at Harvard Kennedy School and was the editor-in-chief of Singapore Policy Journal, a student-run publication that focuses on analysing public policy in Singapore.
After graduating in 2016, Thng joined management consultancy Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as a principal, and subsequently co-founded a product sampling start-up called Showdrop, according to ST.

WP will field a total of 14 new faces in GE2025.
In addition to those revealed today, WP will field these new candidates:
- Abdul Muhaimin, Senior Property Manager with Aljunied-Hougang Town Council
- Kenneth Tiong, director of tech start-up Sensemake AI
- Alia Mattar, legal counsel
- Eileen Chong, former diplomat
- Ong Lue Ping, former senior principal clinical psychologist at the Institute of Mental Health
- Andre Low, secretary assistant to WP Member of Parliament Louis Chua
- Jimmy Tan, sales manager and legislative assistant to Singh
- Alexis Dang, senior counsel at a global advertising tech company
- Harpreet Singh, senior counsel
- Jasper Kuan, strategist in the financial and digital payment sectors
- Sufyan Mikhail, lawyer
Singh however did say that while this was the final press conference announcing the new candidates, there might be "the prospect of spare candidates", in case there's a need to have them deployed, as such he could not promise there would be "no more new faces".
