Speaking to the media, Leong said:

"I'm honoured that the CEC has asked me to take back the position of the sec-gen, to lead the party into the election so that we can scale greater heights."

Leong, who served as secretary-general from 2023 to 2024 before he voluntarily stepped down after getting POFMA-ed, added that he has been "concentrating on ground operations" and "building up the team on the ground" over the past 12 months.

Tan, the party chairman, threw his weight behind Leong:

"We really mean business. If we are wrong, we admit we are wrong. If we are right, we will show you that this is the path to what we think is good for Singapore.

I'm quite proud of the fact that Mun Wai owned up, and I told him, 'You must come back.'

This is politics. It shows the strength of the individual not to just buckle."

Moving forward, Leong said that he will orchestrate the party's campaign, moving into GE2025, to scale greater heights.

Meanwhile, Poa said that she will be focusing on her responsibilities as a foster parent, which will take away some of her time from party work.

"I just want to say that I'm happy with this new arrangement. Mun Wai is ready to resume the responsibilities of secretary-general again. And I personally have some new responsibilities coming up as a foster parent, which will take up quite a bit of my time, so this arrangement suits us well."
