Jalan Besar coffee shop has been offering free breakfast set for students since Nov. 2024, still no takers

A coffee shop at Jalan Besar has been offering a free breakfast set for students since November 2024.

Limited to 10 sets a day.

A student simply has to show up in their uniform.

Despite the prominent placing of the offer, no student has taken it up yet.

Speaking to Mothership, the coffeeshop's manager, Crystal, said this offer was to let "kids have a good breakfast before they attend school".

Despite there being no takers thus far, she has no intention of a cut-off date just yet.

By the way, here's what's included in the breakfast set:

"Two toasted bread with butter and kaya, two half boil eggs and a cup of hot beverage."

According to Crystal, they also have several stalls offering whole day budget meals in their coffeeshop.

She also said mentioned how "every neighbourhood has its low income group" with kids. Which would explain why Kou Wei has been doing this since 2018 at 531 Bedok Eating House.
