Woman finds iPad untouched 12 hours after leaving it behind in Japan restaurant

After forgetting her iPad overnight in a restaurant in Japan, a woman found it exactly where she had left it, untouched.

On Feb. 13, TikTok user Intan shared in a video that she had left her iPad at the restaurant after returning to her hotel.

As it was 10:30pm, the restaurant was closed, so she could not give the restaurant a call to check on her iPad.

Lost and found

The next day, Intan returned to the restaurant with her family.

Then, she spotted her iPad sitting on a signboard outside the restaurant, much to her relief.

While she admitted that she did not remember leaving the device there as she thought she left it inside the restaurant, Intan was happy she got her iPad back.

She added that her iPad was not password-protected and was still left alone.

In her caption, Intan praised Japan's safety.

She shared that in another incident, she left a bag behind but was able to find it.

"The Japanese have such a high level of minding their own business that even when they see an iPad left behind, they don't take it because it's not theirs," Intan noted.

In response to a comment, Intan shared that the iPad had been in that spot for 12 hours "without being touched."

"If it were in Malaysia, [the iPad] would disappear in the blink of an eye, like the wind."
