A total of six coffee shops in Singapore were suspended for one day on Feb. 21, 2025 as a result of the poor condition of their toilets.
The suspensions were made public by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).
Teck Wah at 8 Lorong 7 Toa Payoh
The coffee shop was found to have committed three similar offences, which were the failure to keep the toilet clean and in good repair.
Each offence resulted in four demerit points.
The licensee has accumulated 12 demerit points within a 12-month period and was fined a total of S$1,300.
Teck Seng at 588F Balestier Road
The coffee shop was found to have committed three offences: One offence for the failure to maintain sanitary fittings in good working condition and repair, and two offences for the failure to keep the toilet clean and in good repair.
Each offence resulted in four demerit points.
The licensee has accumulated 12 demerit points within a 12-month period and was fined a total of S$1,100.
1002 Food Court at 1002 Toa Payoh Industrial Park
The coffee shop was found to have committed three offences: One offence for the failure to provide toilet paper, soap, in toilet, and two offences for the failure to keep the toilet clean and in good repair.
The first offence resulted in six demerit points.
The other two offences resulted in four demerit points each.
The licensee has accumulated 14 demerit points within a 12-month period and was fined a total of S$1,200.
7 Stars at Block 312A Sumang Link
The coffee shop in Punggol was found to have committed three similar offences, which were the failure to keep the toilet clean and in good repair.
Each offence resulted in four demerit points.
The licensee has accumulated 12 demerit points within a 12-month period and was fined a total of S$1,300.
27A Coffee Shop at 517 Geylang Road
The coffee shop committed three similar offences, which were the failure to keep the toilet clean and in good repair.
Each offence resulted in four demerit points.
The licensee accumulated 12 demerit points within a 12-month period and was fined a total of S$1,300.
Al Mubin Restaurant at 92 Syed Alwi Road
The coffee shop in Jalan Besar committed three offences: Two offences for the failure to maintain sanitary fittings in good working condition and repair, and one offence for the failure to keep toilet clean and in good repair.
Each offence resulted in four demerit points.
The licensee accumulated 12 demerit points within a 12-month period and was fined a total of S$1,100.
